Our Mission

St. Thomas is part of The Episcopal Church, which spans the United States and beyond. Regionally, we are part of the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama, and globally we are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The core beliefs of our tradition are the same as most other Christian denominations.  Our faith is centered on the word of God found in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible, along with the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds of the ancient Christian Church.  Our prayer, worship, and traditions come out of the Book of Common Prayer, which contains our liturgies for Holy Baptism, the Holy Eucharist, and the sacraments of the church.
